Hi, I am lending my old Linn Afekt "bass reinforcement speaker" to a friend who owns a Rega Brio-R integrated amplifier, but am not sure if it's possible for these pieces to be used together. If it is, I am not sure how best to connect them. Any suggestions much appreciated.
The Brio has several line level inputs and a "record output" that according to the manual is "for connection to any recordable device. The output is a ‘record signal’ as selected by the main input selector 1-4. This output is not
affected by the volume control."
The Afekt has a filtered output, a line output and a line input.
Can I go from the Brio "record output" to the line input on the Afekt? I am not sure there's another option, as there are no other outputs on the Brio.
Many thanks.
Can I connect Linn Afekt (sub) to Rega Brio-R (integrated)?

Advice here suggests no...

Yes, this doesn't work.
You'll have the sub playing at a constant and very high level, regardless of loud you play your main speakers.

Some subs work also with the speaker outputs of amps, not sure about the Afekt.

It's a simple search to konfirm, Matt: the Afekt does not, hence the previous replies... ;)

Thanks to all for the responses. Looks like something like a REL connected to speaker outputs with stacking bananas is the only practical answer.
