Re: LP12 to Sneaky

Connected up our Sneaky DS to my main system today, since the deck is being serviced for a couple of weeks. I find the sneaky quite enjoyable when listening to a well recorded CD ripped to a good NAS drive, and disabling its preamp/amplification functions. It is no Klimax DS but surprisingly listen...

Re: Tukans vs. 242 mkII..??

Maybe 242's just aren't that good? Sorry, had to say what others are probably thinking!
Good bookshelf speakers can certainly embarrass larger floorstanding ones however. Don't do owt daft though!

Re: Songs, streaming and all things music.

Hannah Miller of moulettes fame, really quite beautiful to listen to. You may also like her band, it's probably worth looking her and moulettes up on Spotify, it's hard to categorise.

Re: Terrific Tarandus- My thoughts so far...

Listening at lower volumes is much improved too, I've noticed that I'm listening at much lower levels than previously and it's sounding fuller and more distinct. I forgot to mention this in my original post and personally think it's a really impressive part of the upgrade. Crucial for those later ev...

Terrific Tarandus- My thoughts so far...

The day was Friday 13th 2018. I was eagerly awaiting my Lejonklou units back from being upgraded by Fredrik in Sweden. I'd briefly listened to the tundra via DVC for afew days after packing the Sagatun monos up first. This is NOT music. It has no emotion or feeling, it's souless and uninspiring and ...

Hi Neil. Yes I was surprised that there wasn't, or didn't appear to be such a thread on this'll forum. Hopefully people will share things they like here. I like radio paradise, it's a nice diverse station. I don't have tidal and probably won't be adding any more streaming subscriptions to my househo...

Re: Songs, streaming and all things music.

I seeked out the original issue of zoolook by Jean Michel Jarre as I'm not usually a fan of the modern remasters. Search for 'Martin Galway' too, his stuff is really good.
Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check it out.

Songs, streaming and all things music.

I have recently discovered the joys of a family Spotify account. The amount of artists at my fingertips has ensured that my nas drive and bubble DS next have remained untouched for weeks. At first I was concerned about the difference in quality between my 1411 kbps 16/44 flac files on my nas and the...

I got my three Freddie boxes back this afternoon after being sent to Sweden to be sprinkled with magic Freddie dust. Re: Into the heart of digital vs analog

Ok, so with the power of positive thinking, not to mention previous quality.. when Fredrik’s MC pre does come out..I’m sure you’d be hard pressed to find anyone not immedialty wanting one. My ? Is what should go first in the hierarchy, replace KK with current spec Sagutun monos or the phono stage. ...

Re: Into the heart of digital vs analog

As someone who's just had to take a pair of sagatun monos out of his system and listen to an akurate ds1 straight into a tundra whilst I get them upgraded, I'm absolutely staggered with the difference. How do people enjoy music like this? No emotion, no soul no thrill, NO BLOODY MUSIC. I may as well...

Re: Tundra 2.2 vs Linn C4200/D and KCT/D

Sagatun monos destroy a KK mate, yes their functionality is limited compared to the KK but if you just want the best analogue pre you can get that enhances your current setup it's the way to go. In my humble opinion of course. (I was always right about the tundra, hence my unbounded enthusiasm :) )

Did you compare the 3677s to your current speakers in the same set-up? Matt I'll be surprised if he's even heard a decent pair, let alone had some at home to even compare them properly. There's so much wrong with his original statement that it doesn't even warrant an explanation from him. Just a 'n...

Re: Lejonklou Tundra 2.2 vs Linn C4200/D and KCT/D

The first clip sounds dull, boring and emotionless.
The second is completely the opposite.
Its amazing how easy it is to hear the differences via clips like this, compressed and listened to via a smartphone.
Less than ten seconds was easily enough.
Thanks for sharing.

Re: Lejonklou Tundra 2.2 vs Linn C4200/D and KCT/D

Congratulations Charlie1. In my original tundra review 4½ years ago when Chris at HiddenSystems sent me the boxes to compare, back then I thought there was actually something wrong with the 4200. There wasn't of course, it's was just completely bettered by an unassuming little black box that a guy i...
