I think you are correct in the assumption that it's browser-dependent.

Jajo has been looking at faults that appear with various browsers, but I am not sure he has figured this one out yet.

Visoflex: Welcome to the forum and thanks for that extensive and detailed review of the Keel and Trampolin/2! It's funny that you start out with "I don't know how to say this" and then go deeply into what the upgrades have done, musically, to several pieces. Very informative and on such a high level...

Thanks for your suggestion, Rutger! There are no immediate plans but this has been discussed and I have a cooperation with several people who are good at digital systems. I am mostly into the analogue world and I believe one needs both perspectives to get good results. Even when just making a clock ...

Yes! This is an upgrade from the previous Trampolin. Mostly it concerns the bass, which is more firm, controlled and exact. This is how I would personally describe the difference: Those of you who have compared the solid board with the Trampolin will know that on a very light and potentially springy...

All I know is that with many of the settings on the Unidisk 1.1, I haven't noticed any difference to the audio quality when briefly trying them.

Let's concentrate on those that actually make a difference. I'm certainly grateful for every contribution.

Thanks, I have never tried these two settings on the KK. Only the RS232 setting, which I think should be set to 'on'. To those who might doubt our sanity when discussing these things, I have to point out that most of these tips make a very small difference to the sound of the unit. But when you add ...

Music Lover: No, only seen it in a Unidisk 1.1 so far. Paolo: I think Linn is probably still one of the most fanatic companies in the world when it comes to 'Attention to detail'. It seems, though, that they have purposely decided to leave some things out. To save time perhaps? per: I haven't notice...

I have a theory that could explain the different results we are getting on the 1.1's: The amount of current that the voltage regulator delivers greatly affects the sound of the circuits that it feeds. When turning SPDIF on, we are probably slightly affecting the current consumption of that circuit. ...

Direction of internal cables

I have some good news for all Linn enthusiasts: It seems Linn have started to pay attention to the direction of their internal cabling. In the latest Unidisks, the cables from the power supply is now marked with direction and inserted correctly. These used to be oriented randomly. After having infor...

Thanks for reporting! It's interesting that we have come to different conclusions. I haven't tried the SPDIF setting on the SC, but it may very well differ between the SC and the 1.1. Other things have differed, like the ESS software which I tried numerous times on both machines and the latest was a...

Are there any furter comments or judgements on the AKG K24P? I forgot to answer this question of yours, per. Apologies! The K24P's sound a bit harder than the Porta Pro's, but they are more tuneful and enjoyable, in my opinion. Not sure which of the two will stay in place the longest during work-ou...

Thanks Thomas! That was quite an extensive review, I will check the records out. The reason I asked about Krauss + Union Station was that I read a review in a Swedish newspaper a while back that they were going to do a follow up on their successful collaboration on 'New Favourite'. It was written as...

Hm, interesting. I have never heard this question before. Should be rather easy to find out by a little experimenting. Anybody have any experience with this? By the way, in my room it was well worth the effort to open the TV and remove the 2 speakers inside. Rather easy to refit them as well, if I s...

No, I am talking voltage and current capabilities. Such things normally don't say much, but with ultra difficult speakers and a taste for loud music, they sometimes can.

I didn't mean it was too long, just long. :)

If you find one second hand locally, either from a shop or a private seller, it should be possible to arrange an audition in your own system IMHO.

2250 and Klout are both better sounding than 5105 and LK240.
5105 and LK240 are however more powerful.

Long story there, G man! To answer your last question, yes. Please note that power and quality are two different things. The 100W Chakras are great sounding amplifiers but not exactly powerful. The two I mentioned above are older designs and do not sound as good but are far more powerful. While qual...

Equipment breaking down isn't funny. The best possible way of looking at it might be that it's a chance to hear something different...? As you say 'cheap' I would suggest looking at second hand Linn amps. I'm not sure what you will find in Maryland, but in Europe there are some real bargains to be f...

I'm always up for such comparisons, Thomas. :D But nowadays I define the logistics very precisely before I start, otherwise the results could later be found useless.
