Re: Giella ∏ headphone amplifier
That is high praise for the ZMF's indeed, considering how impressed you were with Abyss Diana. Its such a shame these planar magnetic headphones are so expensive as Listening to Kalla/ Giella Pi through good headphones ( I have Grado RS2e, which is much more musical than my SR125e) is incredibly enj...

With so much demand for TM3 - I’m sure I could help relieve the pressure by just asking for just an upgrade for my TM2.

Re: More About Powering a System
I'd like to make a WARNING about daisy-chaining power strips. Every strip has a power rating, which is printed on it. If the sum of the power consumed by all units connected to the strip exceeds the strip's power rating, metal parts will be heated enough to potentially cause a fire. If a power stri...

Re: Tundra Mono 3
Thanks for that.
I will be keeping my fingers crossed that at least the Tundra Mono 2s can be successfully updated.
There’s something very satisfying about keeping the original units and having them sound as good ( or at least nearly as good ) as the new ones.

Re: Tundra Mono 3
Hello Barrie! Production, final assembly and tuning are working full speed. I am just about to start on number 009. Next week I plan to make the first upgrade of an older pair. As there are various small differences in casing, cooling, power supply, etc. over the ten years it’s been in production, ...

Comparision 1 - I prefer B but not by as much as I was expecting with K400 vs K20
Comparision 2 - More difficult to choose. If you put a gun to my head - I would go for B

Re: How do I find my Källa web interface?
So at 23:28 hrs on 7th February I post an issue with finding my KAlla~17 on the network. At 23:42 , 14 minutes later ( as I am getting ready for bed) I get a reply from Lejonklou HQ pointing me towards the fix and a second reply from Tokenbrit confirming the likely problem. I wake up at 05;30 check ...

Re: How do I find my Källa web interface?
Thanks Fredrik and Tokenbrit It was the switch! It was not visible on the router - my other two GS 108/308 were, along with the mesh unit. A simple reboot did the trick. I have not used the downstairs Kalla for a week or so - been listening to the LP 12 with 1950s/1960s Jazz recordings ; something t...

Re: How do I find my Källa web interface?
Hi
No - only the upstairs Kalla is visible .
Should I try connecting directly to the mesh - in case it’s the network switch that is the problem?
Or even directly to the router?

Re: How do I find my Källa web interface?
One of my Kallas #17 is not visible on the network - I can’t find it with its web address 192.168.0 Etc
It’s connected to the mesh router / network switch - which both appear to be fine.
Any ideas of what I should do next?
The other Kalla is fine.

Re: GRADO HEADPONE EXTENSION CABLE
I have the 15 ft - 4 conductor cable with a smooth plastic covering. After reading that some are happy with the above - I did the test again. Maybe, I was being a tad harsh on the extension cable, as in isolation, it still sounds ‘good’ and enjoyable with Kalla/ Giella pi. I have been using this for...

Re: GRADO HEADPONE EXTENSION CABLE
Thanks for reviewing that extension cable from Grado u252agz. I agree Giella Pi is a fantastic headphone amp/ pre amp -which I would take along with ...

Re: GRADO HEADPONE EXTENSION CABLE
"Grado guarantees no degradation of sonic quality with Grado headphones while using their extension cable." This from their own website. So you should be able to get your money back. I find it particularly interesting that they make a 15 foot cable and an apparently higher-quality 12 foot cable for...

Re: GRADO HEADPONE EXTENSION CABLE
I wonder if anyone has looked at the optimal length of cable for headphones and whether the optimal length will be similar to speaker cables ie around 2.5 m. Looking online, it seems that most in the headphone community think that length does not matter - there are reports of 50 feet of cable ( and ...

GRADO HEADPONE EXTENSION CABLE
I have been using the Grado 4.5 metre extension cable with my RS2e headphones( Kalla with Giella Pi) for a few months now and enjoying this system, reclining on the bed in the spare room, which is at the opposite end from the Kalla/Giella. Over the weekend, I tried my Grado 125e straight into Giella...

Re: Recommended network components
I finally got around to replacing the stock cat 5 cable connecting my BT mesh wi fi unit to my Kalla upstairs, with a Blue Jeans 6a -2.5 metre length cable . Wow -really big difference. So much more musical. I tried it with Suzanne Vegas Gypsy on solitude standing - my standard for A to Bs and it’s ...

Re: A lejonklou for my 2nd or 3rd system
I agree with springwood. Boazu and Tundra both drive my 242s and Komponent 110s just fine, but my rooms are only 6metres by 5 with 2.5 m ceiling. I have used linn preamps with Tundra ( Kolektor and AK 1) and they are well matched. Nice thing with a Boazu is its really versatile. if you ever connect ...

I think all of us lucky enough to own Kalla owe the whole Lejonklou team a huge debt of gratitude. I assumed that great Digital streamers were just too difficult to develop a...

Re: General Discussion about Källa
I still can not believe how good the Kalla is in my system - by far the biggest upgrade I have ever experienced in over 30 years of running top end Linn systems. I have had Kalla 017 for 10 months or so and everytime I listen to it, am still astonished at just how good it is. The only Linn componen...

Re: JBL 308P and 708P
I connected my Giella Pi with 6 metre Linn Black cables made for me by OK Thomas. These are very high quality speakers and my thinking was that if one is using good quality stuff upstream ( I have Kalla /giella pi) they deserve the ‘best’( linn silver) or ‘second best’ (linn blacks). However I have ...
