Re: The death of K400
I can say that optimum speaker cable length is best. I have some surround speakers Linn K104. I had Linn silvers as the interconnect, and long speaker cables to get to the speakers. I swapped to optimum length speaker cables and long Linn black interconnect, I think 4m long, with the amp moved close...

After spending more time with the change, it's a step down. So, nevermind.

Re: Which App ? (Streaming + Local)
Something to try: set your Netgear switch to 100Mbps instead of auto (which ends up 1000Mbps) I think it's an improvement, because the network connection is at a lower rate. Perfectly fine data rate for music, maybe not so much for video. I went into the Netgear web interface and set all ports to 10...

I like 352. It's more cohesive and full and direct. The other is thinner and distant, separated.

Re: Recommended network components
I've been doing testing on which network port on the Amplifi HD sounds the best. When looking at the back of it, the lower left is the one. It's labelled number 3. Both of my Amplifi's (sender and receiver) agree with this. See what you think. All 4 ports sound different. If possible, don't have any...

I don't have a Kalla or use Spotify, I have a Hakai, so that didn't happen to me. If that setting needs to be off, then leave it off.

I'm the person who's been having a play with the settings in the GS108T. I've come to these settings and like it. You may need to pull the speakers forward a tad. System: SNMP: Trap Flags: all enable (these are on by default) Switching: Voice LAN: disable Switching: STP: enable Switching: Multicast:...

Re: Recommended network components
I recently got a GS308T. I was initially happy but then not so much. I was finding it a bit bright. Then I looked at my GS108T and saw it has no rubber feet. I placed the GS308T upside down to get it off it's feet, and liked the result. I've now removed the feet, they're only sticky pads. You'll nee...

998 for sure. More swing and swagger. 997 is stiff and stifled.

Re: Recommended network components
After ThomasOK's clips with the Netgear GS308T, is anyone else having a try?
It did sound more musical, especially with the GS108T PSU. I'd get one myself, but I'd have to get one from overseas (Australia to New Zealand). Just looking for some more postive feedback before doing so.

Fredrik,
Did you change the wiring on yours?

Re: JBL 3677
I'm thinking about replacing the internal wiring on my 3677's with split K400 (actually K600). I'm not going to remove the crossover from the speaker. Did people remove/unsolder the existing wires from the board going to the speaker drivers, or use them to connect to the next part of the chain when ...

Has anyone tried using 2 Netgear GS108T's in sequence? I have one and like what it does. Just wondering if another would increase this improvement or not.

Re: Power supply
I've taken to the earth pin on the power plug with a hacksaw to cut it off. Works brilliantly. Before doing this I got a double adaptor plug and did the same thing, to test it without harming my power cable. This was used as a pass though with the power cable, to remove the earth connection. I know ...

KLH model 5 and model 3
Has anyone had any experience with either of these speakers? The reviews I've read say they are fun and musical. The vintage styling is also appealing. The low height and up angle is interesting, reminds me a little of the original Quad ESL's.

So if your fibre modem is close to your network gear, only one Amplifi HD is needed? Or is it that the wireless link between to Amplifi HD's gives the magic?

This is the power supply to the Hakai creating an earth loop. This just happened to me, as I got some JBL 305p MkI to try. https://www.lejonklou.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=48267#p48267 My solution is to cut the earth pin from the power cord going to the power supply. A temporary solution is to use a ...

Re: Playground for practical listening exercises
I did that test way back when first putting together my Hakai. I found the same, reading from motherboard to system drive was best. In my Hakai NAS the data drive is best reading from drive to motherboard, as you'd expect. You could surmise that it's more important for the system drive to "write" th...

Re: Källa As A Streamer
Can you see your HAKAI listed under Media Servers? My MinimServer eventually appears there, though it can take a while. My Hakai doesn't show up, but it's not a HAKAI - it's a Debian-upmpdcli player... Volumio has airplay support, a straight Debian install won't have it. You'd need to find some sof...
